The SM1 is designed for any slow-moving application that does not need a wind deflector to reduce wind noise or drag, including skid steers, tractors and farming equipment. It is also well suited for mounting inside a vehicle on a moonroof, sunroof or panoramic glass roof. For an interior installation, mount the same suction cups upside down and make sure the glass roof is large enough to fit the mount.

The SM1 is not intended for roof-rack installation. Choose the SatGear SM3 for a roof rack. The SM3’s wider cross sections are designed to sit on top of roof-rack crossbars, which are typically 2.5 to 3 inches wide. Use your roof-rack manufacturer’s hardware through the SM3’s mounting slots; roof-rack fasteners are not included.

No adapter is needed when your tripod has a 1/4-20 mounting screw. The screw threads directly into the SM1’s built-in 1/4-20 hole. Check your tripod’s screw size before attaching it.

This allows you to position the magnets between your roof ridges or on top of them, depending on your roof’s layout.

You can move them closer together or farther apart to suit your vehicle and the space between its roof ridges. Position each cup on a smooth, sufficiently flat area so it can form a complete seal.

Yes. Use the same suction cups and mount them upside down on the SM1 to attach it inside your vehicle to suitable sunroof, moonroof or panoramic roof glass, including Tesla vehicles with exposed glass roofs. Make sure the glass roof is large enough to fit the mount, with enough clearance for the SM1 and a suitable area for each cup to seal fully. Place the cups against clean glass and pump each cup to create a vacuum seal. You can also use other interior glass surfaces where the mount has enough clearance and every cup can seal fully.
