SATGEAR SM7 - Ford F150, F250, F350 & F450 Bed Mount for Starlink Mini (SM2 + VSM + Bed Tie-Down Adapter)
***SHIPS WORLDWIDE***
The SatGear SM7 Bed Mount System is the solution Ford truck owners have been asking for.
For over a year, customers with Ford aluminum-body trucks have been looking for a reliable way to mount their Starlink Mini without relying on magnets and suction cups. Because these trucks use aluminum panels, traditional magnetic mounting isn’t an option and suction cups require ongoing maintenance.
This system solves that problem by providing a secure, permanent mounting solution using your truck’s factory BoxLink bed cleat mounting points.

Designed for Ford BoxLink Bed Cleat System
This system is engineered to replace one of your factory bed cleat plates and mount directly into the truck bed wall.
Compatible with:
• 2015–Present Ford F-150 (when equipped with BoxLink Cleat System)
• 2017–Present Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty (with bed BoxLink cleat mounting points)
If your truck has removable bed cleats, this system is designed to fit.

Starlink Mini sold separately.

United States, Canada and Mexico orders ship via UPS.
Choose your mounting setup
Start with the Ford bed setup. To use the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount) on other vertical surfaces, attach optional U-brackets to the VSM for magnets, suction cups or a permanent hard mount with screws.
Detach the SM2 from the VSM to use a compatible spare tire mount and strap, pole mount adapter, rubber magnets or 3-inch manual suction cups.
| Setup | Where it fits | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Ford BoxLink bed mount | Compatible Ford F-150, F-250, F-350 and F-450 truck beds | The included steel adapter replaces a factory bed cleat plate and uses the existing BoxLink mounting points. No drilling, magnets or suction cups are required for this installation. Your truck must have the matching BoxLink bed cleat mounting points. |
| VSM with suction cups — optional | Vehicle panels, RV walls, glass and other vertical surfaces | U-brackets are required to attach manual or electronic suction cups to the VSM. Select the U-brackets along with your suction cup option for the VSM. Each 6-inch cup needs a clean, flat area large enough for a complete seal. Light texture can work if the cup forms and maintains its seal. |
| VSM with rubber magnets — optional | Steel vehicle panels, trailers and equipment enclosures | U-brackets are required to attach rubber magnets to the VSM. Select the U-brackets along with your magnet option. Each VSM magnet has over 130 pounds of pull force, for a combined pull force of 260 pounds with two magnets. Check that the panel attracts a magnet; magnets do not attach to aluminum Ford body panels. |
| VSM hard mount — optional | Fixed vertical surfaces such as service bodies, walls and containers | Select the optional U-brackets, which include thumb screws for attaching the VSM. Fasten the U-brackets to a vertical surface with screws for a permanent hard mount without magnets or suction cups. Unscrew the thumb screws to detach the VSM, leave the U-brackets in place, and move the VSM to another location with a second set of U-brackets. |
| SM2 with rubber magnets — optional | Horizontal steel vehicle roofs and panels | Use four SM2-size rubber-coated magnets. The SM2’s adjustable slots let you change their spacing. Check that your mounting panel attracts a magnet. |
| SM2 with suction cups — optional | Vehicle roofs or compatible interior glass roofs | Use four 3-inch manual suction cups. Each cup needs enough clean, flat space for a complete seal. The cups can also mount upside down on the SM2 for interior glass mounting. |
Adjustable height for your truck bed and tonneau cover
The multi-level height adjustment lets you raise or lower Starlink Mini by approximately 4 inches. Raise it toward the top of the bed or lower it to fit underneath your tonneau cover. Clearance depends on your bed and cover setup. Satellite reception through a closed cover depends on its material and construction.
Steel bed adapter with integrated tie-down anchors
The heavy-duty steel adapter provides a rigid mounting base and includes built-in anchor points for securing cargo, tools and gear.
SM2 wind deflector and clean 12V power
The included aluminum SM2 Mount has an integrated wind deflector and adjustable mounting slots for its compatible magnets and suction cups. The included 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter connects at the rear of your truck, so you do not have to run the power cable through the cab.
Use the same system in more than one location
For an SM6-style vertical mount, remove the Ford bed adapter and attach optional U-brackets to the VSM. The VSM requires U-brackets for magnets, suction cups or permanent hard mounting with screws.
Detach the SM2 from the VSM to use compatible mounting attachments, brackets, rubber magnets or suction cups.

SM7 frequently asked questions
What is the SM7, and what is included?
The SatGear SM7 is a Starlink Mini mounting system for compatible Ford truck beds. It includes the SM2 Mount with wind deflector, VSM (Vertical Surface Mount), steel Ford Bed Tie-Down Adapter and a 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter. The current offer also lets you select a free 3ft or 10ft 14AWG 12V cable. Starlink Mini is sold separately. Optional U-brackets are available for VSM magnets, suction cups or permanent mounting with screws.
How easy is it to detach the SM2 from the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount)?
The SM2 attaches to the VSM with four Allen screws. Remove those four screws to detach it. If you plan to do this frequently, optional thumb screws from our Accessories page allow faster removal by hand. The detached SM2 can use a compatible spare tire mount and strap, pole mount adapter, rubber magnets or 3-inch manual suction cups.
Which Ford trucks does the SM7 fit?
The SM7 is designed for 2015–present Ford F-150 trucks equipped with BoxLink, and 2017–present Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks with matching BoxLink bed cleat mounting points. Check for those factory mounting points in your truck bed; model and year alone do not confirm fit.
Can I install the SM7 without drilling?
Yes. For its Ford bed installation, the included steel adapter replaces a factory bed cleat plate and attaches at the existing BoxLink mounting points. This configuration does not require magnets or suction cups. For a permanent VSM installation on a different vertical surface, fasten optional pre-drilled U-brackets to that surface with suitable screws or bolts.
Can I adjust the height to fit under a tonneau cover?
Yes. The SM7 provides approximately 4 inches of height adjustment so you can raise or lower Starlink Mini to suit your truck bed. Check the clearance under your particular cover. Reception through a closed tonneau cover depends on its material and construction.
How do I power Starlink Mini from the rear of my truck?
The included 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter connects to your truck’s factory 7-way trailer connector. Connect your selected 12V cable between the adapter and Starlink Mini, without routing a cable through the cab. The trailer connector must provide power; its behavior depends on your truck’s configuration.
Can I use the SM7 as an SM6-style vertical mount?
Yes. Remove the Ford bed adapter and attach optional U-brackets to the VSM. U-brackets are required for VSM magnets, suction cups or permanent mounting with screws. Select the U-brackets with your chosen VSM mounting option. They include thumb screws for attaching to the VSM. For a permanent installation, screw the U-brackets to a vertical surface. Undo the thumb screws to remove the VSM while leaving the brackets installed. With a second set at another location, you can move the VSM between setups.
Which accessories can I use with the detached SM2?
Compatible options include the SatGear spare tire mount and strap, pole mount adapter, SM2-size rubber magnets and 3-inch manual suction cups. The concept is similar to Milwaukee and DeWalt battery systems: start with a core component, then add compatible equipment as your needs change. Explore the available options on our Accessories page and choose accessories listed for the SM2 or SM Series. The MM4 bracket kit and MM5 L-bracket kit are not compatible with the SM2. Additional accessories are sold separately.
Are the SM2 and VSM magnets and suction cups interchangeable?
No. The SM2 uses four smaller mounting points with 3-inch manual suction cups or 1 5/8-inch rubber magnets. The VSM uses two larger mounting points with 6-inch manual or electronic suction cups or approximately 3.5-inch heavy-duty rubber magnets. Choose the correct hardware set for each mount.
How strong are the optional rubber magnets for the VSM?
Each of the VSM’s two larger rubber-coated magnets is rated at over 130 pounds of pull force, with a combined pull force of 260 pounds. Select optional U-brackets to attach these magnets to the VSM. Check that your panel attracts a magnet; aluminum panels do not. The Ford bed installation itself uses the steel bed adapter and does not need magnets. The separate SM2 magnet set uses four smaller magnets with over 130 pounds of combined pull force.
What is the difference between manual and electronic VSM suction cups?
Both VSM options use two large 6-inch cups and require optional U-brackets. Manual cups use a hand-operated pump. Electronic cups monitor vacuum and automatically re-pump when it drops below 80%. Electronic cups are USB-rechargeable and water-resistant, with approximately 2–3 weeks of operation per charge. Each cup needs enough clean, flat surface for a complete seal. The standalone SM2 uses a separate set of four 3-inch manual cups.
Can I use the SM2 inside my vehicle or on a tripod?
Yes. The SM2’s 3-inch suction cups can mount upside down on top of the SM2 for attachment inside a sunroof, moonroof or panoramic glass roof with enough space for the mount and a complete seal at every cup. A compatible tripod can also attach directly to the SM2’s built-in 1/4-20 threaded hole without an adapter.
Are U-brackets, magnets and suction cups included with every SM7 order?
No. The standard Ford bed setup includes the SM2, VSM, Ford bed adapter and 7-way power adapter. For VSM magnets or suction cups, select the optional U-brackets along with your chosen hardware. U-brackets can also be used to hard mount the VSM to a vertical surface with screws. The U-brackets include thumb screws, allowing you to leave a set installed and move the VSM to another set. SM2 mounting accessories are available separately on our Accessories page.
