The SatGear Bed Mount System is the solution Ford truck owners have been asking for.

For over a year, customers with Ford aluminum-body trucks have been looking for a reliable way to mount their Starlink Mini without relying on magnets and suction cups. Because these trucks use aluminum panels, traditional magnetic mounting isn’t an option and suction cups require ongoing maintenance.

This system solves that problem by providing a secure, permanent mounting solution using your truck’s factory BoxLink bed cleat mounting points.

BoxLink compatible: four factory bed mounting locations

Designed for Ford BoxLink Bed Cleat System

This system is engineered to replace one of your factory bed cleat plates and mount directly into the truck bed wall.

Compatible with:

  • 2015–Present Ford F-150 (when equipped with BoxLink Cleat System)
  • 2017–Present Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 Super Duty (with bed BoxLink cleat mounting points)

If your truck has removable bed cleats, this system is designed to fit.

Adjustable height for your truck bed and tonneau cover

The multi-level height adjustment lets you raise or lower Starlink Mini by approximately 4 inches. Raise it toward the top of the bed or lower it to fit underneath your tonneau cover. Clearance depends on your bed and cover setup. Satellite reception through a closed cover depends on its material and construction.

Steel bed adapter with integrated tie-down anchors

The heavy-duty steel adapter provides a rigid mounting base and includes built-in anchor points for securing cargo, tools and gear.

Use your MM7 as an MM6 vertical surface mount

Your MM7 can also be used as an MM6. Remove the Ford bed adapter and keep the MM1 Protective Mount attached to the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount).

Select optional U-brackets with manual or electronic suction cups, rubber magnets, or both in the options above. U-brackets are required to attach either type of suction cup or the rubber magnets to the VSM.

Use suction cups on suitable surfaces where they can form and maintain a complete seal, or rubber magnets on steel surfaces. For a permanent installation, fasten the U-brackets directly to a vertical surface with screws.

Detach the MM1 from the VSM to use compatible mounting attachments, brackets, rubber magnets or suction cups.

Key features

  • Ford BoxLink compatibility: Fits the matching factory bed cleat mounting points on 2015–present F-150 and 2017–present F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks equipped with BoxLink.
  • Permanent, magnet-free Ford bed installation: Uses the factory mounting points with no drilling required, so it works with compatible aluminum-body trucks.
  • Heavy-duty steel bed adapter: Provides a rigid mounting base with integrated tie-down anchor points.
  • Approximately 4 inches of height adjustment: Raise or lower the mount to suit your bed and tonneau cover clearance.
  • MM1 + VSM included: Combines the MM1 Protective Mount with the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount).
  • 5mm polycarbonate cover: Pairs with the MM1 aluminum housing to help protect the Starlink Mini’s top, bottom and edges.
  • Modular design: Add optional U-brackets to the VSM for vertical mounting with magnets, suction cups or screws. The detached MM1 can use compatible attachments, brackets, rubber magnets or suction cups.
  • Optional strong rubber magnets: VSM rubber magnets have over 130 pounds of pull force each, for a combined total of 260 pounds of pull force with two magnets, and attach to steel surfaces. U-brackets are required to attach these magnets to the VSM.
  • Manual or electronic suction cup options: U-brackets are required to attach either cup option to the VSM. Electronic cups automatically re-pump when vacuum drops below 80%. They are USB-rechargeable, with approximately 2–3 weeks of operation per charge.
  • Included 12V power adapter: A 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter lets you connect power at the rear of your truck.
  • Weather-resistant construction: Designed for outdoor work, fleet, service and overland applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MM7 and what is included?

The SatGear MM7 is a Starlink Mini mounting system for compatible Ford truck beds. It includes the MM1 Protective Mount, VSM (Vertical Surface Mount), steel Ford Bed Tie-Down Adapter and a 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter. The current offer also lets you select a free 3ft or 10ft 14AWG 12V cable. Starlink Mini is sold separately. U-brackets are optional VSM hardware for magnets, suction cups or hard mounting with screws.

How easy is it to detach the MM1 from the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount)?

The MM1 attaches to the VSM with four Allen screws. Remove those four screws to detach it. If you plan to do this frequently, optional thumb screws from our Accessories page allow faster removal by hand. The detached MM1 can use compatible attachments, brackets, rubber magnets or suction cups.

Which Ford trucks does the MM7 fit?

The MM7 is designed for 2015–present Ford F-150 trucks equipped with BoxLink, and 2017–present Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty trucks with matching BoxLink bed cleat mounting points. Check for those factory mounting points in your truck bed; model and year alone do not confirm fit.

Can I install the MM7 without drilling?

Yes. For its Ford bed installation, the included steel adapter replaces a factory bed cleat plate and attaches at the existing BoxLink mounting points. This configuration does not require magnets or suction cups. If you later hard mount the standalone VSM to another surface, use the optional pre-drilled U-brackets with screws or bolts.

Can I adjust the height to fit under a tonneau cover?

Yes. The MM7 provides approximately 4 inches of height adjustment so you can raise or lower Starlink Mini to suit your truck bed. Check the clearance available under your particular cover. Reception through a closed tonneau cover depends on the cover’s material and construction, so compatibility with every cover is not guaranteed.

How do I power Starlink Mini from the rear of my truck?

The included 7-way trailer plug to 12V adapter connects to your truck’s factory 7-way trailer connector. Connect your selected 12V cable between the adapter and Starlink Mini for a setup that does not require routing a cable through the cab. The trailer connector must provide power; its behavior depends on your truck’s configuration.

Can I use the MM7 as an MM6-style vertical mount?

Yes. Remove the Ford bed adapter and attach optional U-brackets to the VSM. These are required for VSM magnets, suction cups or permanent hard mounting with screws. They are not included when you choose “No I Don't Need U Brackets or Suction Cups or Magnets to use as MM6 Mount.”

The U-brackets include thumb screws for attaching them to the VSM. For a permanent hard mount, fasten the U-brackets to a vertical surface with screws instead of using magnets or suction cups. You can then unscrew the thumb screws to detach the VSM while leaving the U-brackets installed. With another set of U-brackets at a second location, you can move the same VSM between setups.

Which accessories can I use with the detached MM1?

The detached MM1 can use compatible SatGear accessories, including the spare tire mount and strap, pole mount adapter, roof rack brackets, roof rack tray, rubber magnets or suction cups. The concept is similar to Milwaukee and DeWalt battery systems: start with a core component, then add compatible equipment as your needs change. Explore all available brackets and attachments on our Accessories page. Additional mounting accessories are sold separately.

How strong are the optional rubber magnets for an MM6-style vertical surface mount?

The MM6-style vertical surface mount option uses two rubber-coated magnets, each rated at over 130 pounds of pull force, with a combined pull force of 260 pounds. Select the optional U-brackets to attach these magnets to the VSM. Check that your mounting panel attracts a magnet; aluminum panels do not. The Ford bed installation itself uses the steel bed adapter and does not need magnets.

What is the difference between the manual and electronic suction cups?

Both options use two large 6-inch cups and require optional U-brackets to attach the cups to the VSM. Manual cups use a hand-operated pump. Electronic cups monitor vacuum and automatically re-pump when it drops below 80%. The electronic cups are USB-rechargeable, water-resistant and operate for approximately 2–3 weeks per charge. Each cup needs enough clean, flat surface for a complete seal; lightly textured surfaces can work if the seal holds.

Are U-brackets, magnets and suction cups included with every MM7 order?

No. The standard Ford bed setup includes the MM1, VSM, Ford bed adapter and 7-way power adapter. For the VSM, select optional U-brackets with your suction cups or magnets, or use U-brackets to hard mount the VSM to a vertical surface with screws. U-brackets include thumb screws so you can leave one set permanently installed and move the VSM to a second set at another location. You can also find additional compatible components on our Accessories page.
