The SatGear SM4 is a complete modular mounting kit that combines the SM2 Mount with the VSM (Vertical Surface Mount) attachment, delivering unmatched flexibility for both horizontal and vertical installations for the Starlink Mini.

The SM4 is not a permanently fixed configuration, it is a versatile system that allows you to use the SM2 as a standalone mount or attach it to the VSM when vertical mounting is required. This gives you two mounting systems in one kit.

If you want to mount your Starlink Mini on the roof of your vehicle using the SM2, but also have the ability to install it vertically on an RV wall, trailer, service body, or equipment panel using the VSM, the SM4 gives you that freedom. Built on the SM2 4-in-1 Mount Platform

At the core of the SM4 is the SatGear SM2, engineered for ultimate versatility. The SM2 can be used independently and supports four mounting configurations:

• Magnetic mounting
• Manual heavy-duty suction cups
• Tripod mounting
• Upside-down interior mounting using suction cups (ideal for glass roofs, sunroofs, and panoramic roofs such as Teslas)

The SM2 is primarily designed for horizontal vehicle roof installations, while the VSM expands that capability into vertical mounting applications.

Add Vertical Mounting When You Need It

The included VSM (Vertical Surface Mount) converts the SM2 into a secure vertical installation system. Simply attach the SM2 to the VSM when upright mounting is required, or detach it and use the SM2 independently on another vehicle or surface.

This modular design allows you to move between vehicles and installation types without purchasing multiple systems.

Use the SM2 by Itself (Horizontal Mounting)

The SM2 is primarily designed for vehicle roof installations and supports 4 mounting methods:

Attach the VSM for Vertical Mounting

When you need to mount on a wall, vehicle side panel, trailer, service body, or enclosure, simply attach the SM2 to the Vertical Surface Mount. The VSM uses larger suction cups and magnets than the ones that are equipped for the SM2 mount.

Attach using two large 6-inch heavy-duty suction cups for an extremely strong hold on smooth surfaces. Magnetic Mounting
Mount using two ultra-strong 3.5-inch magnets, each rated at over 130 pounds of pull force. With over 260 pounds of total holding strength, this option provides a secure attachment to steel vehicle panels, trailers, and equipment enclosures while allowing fast installation and easy repositioning.

Permanent Hard-Mount Installation
Integrated mounting brackets with pre-drilled holes allow the system to be permanently fastened using screws or bolts, providing maximum stability for fixed installations on trailers, service bodies, walls, and equipment enclosures.

Adjustable Angle for Optimal Satellite Performance

The SM4 features built-in ±10° tilt adjustability through the VSM system, allowing you to fine-tune the orientation of your Starlink Mini to compensate for angled vehicle panels or mounting surfaces. This ensures optimal satellite alignment and maximum connection reliability.

Electronic Suction Cup Option (Optional)

Optional electronic suction cups automatically monitor suction pressure and re-pump themselves whenever vacuum drops below 80%, eliminating manual maintenance. Rechargeable via USB, they operate for approximately 2–3 weeks per charge and are water-resistant for reliable outdoor use.
